Carbon Control Software Announces Senior Promotion

Carbon Control Software, a leading Scottish IT company, has underlined its commitment to retaining its position at the cutting edge of carbon reduction technology with a senior promotion.

Neil Burnett, who has worked for the company for almost two years, has been promoted to the role of Technical Manager. He will be responsible for overseeing the development of the company’s Care Taker software and working with clients to ensure the suite of applications are successfully implemented and adopted.

Reinhardt Fuhrmann, sales director at Carbon Control Software said: “Neil has played an integral role in the development of Care Taker which has already received fantastic feedback from the companies who have been trialling it. We are delighted to promote him to this new position and have every confidence that he will play a crucial role as the product is rolled out to domestic and international markets.”

The company, which is based in Golden Square, Aberdeen, recently launched Care Taker to the market place. The software can reduce an organisation’s PC power consumption by as much as 68% each year. Saving an average sized company thousands of pounds each year while also cutting carbon emissions on average by 141kg per computer, per year.

The technology has undergone rigorous trials with a variety of private and public sector organisations and offers a highly cost effective solution with a typical return on investment of less than six month. Following the trials, a number of companies are now enjoying the benefits that Care Taker provides.

The software monitors activity on a PC day and night and when the computer is not being used automatically applies a number of checks before powering down to standby. It has been specifically designed with various user-friendly features to ensure that the end users are not inconvenienced.

Carbon Control Software Unveils New Sustainable Software

Cutting edge technology that will significantly reduce an organisation’s carbon emissions while also saving thousands of pounds each year, has been launched by Scottish IT firm, Carbon Control Software.

The company, which is based in Aberdeen, has developed a unique suite of software applications, called Care Taker, in conjunction with several public and private sector organisations. The technology is already being used by a number of UK businesses and Carbon Control Software is now in discussions with further organisations with a view to supplying the software.

Care Taker can reduce an organisation’s PC power consumption by as much as 68% each year - saving an average of £28 and 141kg of CO2 per computer annually. It has undergone rigorous trials with a variety of private and public sector organisations and offers a highly cost effective solution with a typical return on investment of less than six month.

Reinhardt Fuhrmann, sales director at Carbon Control Software said: “We have been delighted by the response we’ve had to the trials of our software. This is an extremely relevant software product for today and allows companies and users to focus on their business, confident that the software is optimising PC energy usage and reducing wastage day and night. Our aim was to develop a highly effective solution to carbon reduction that is also very cost efficient and as a result typically the investment is returned in less than six months.”

In a recent survey, the independent Forrester Research Group found that on average 1 in 5 computers are not turned off in the office and that during a working day computers are on for half the time they need to be but encouraging workers to manually switch off their computers when not in use is a major challenge. Care Taker overcomes this need by plugging directly into the PC network.

The software monitors activity on a PC day and night and when the computer is not being used automatically applies a number of checks before powering down to standby. It has been specifically designed with various user-friendly features to ensure that the end users are not inconvenienced.

A key part of the software is the reporting function that enables companies to see the cost savings being made across the organisation and to plan sustainable energy policies for the future. The Care Taker suite of applications also provides an option that can assist organisations with their Health and Safety compliance.
